Italian Mussels


Try out this Italian twist on a seafood favorite!

Prep Time: 20-30 Minutes

Serves: 2


  • 1 lb. Fresh Mussels
  • 1 pint Vince & Joe’s Marinara
  • 2 Teaspoons Italian Seasoning
  • 1 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • ¼ Cup Grated Parmesan
  • 2 Tablespoons White Wine
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Chopped Garlic


  1. Pull beards off mussels, the beard hangs just outside the mussel; use hands or needle nose pliers to remove
  2. Using a hard bristle brush, scrub mussels under cold water until clean then set aside
  3. Heat 12-inch pot or pan (do not use non-stick) on medium heat, add butter and garlic
  4. Add wine and let simmer for 30 to 60 seconds
  5. Add marinara, Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes
  6. Once hot, add mussels then cover and cook for 5-7 minutes
  7. Remove unopened mussels, toss open mussels in sauce then top with parmesan and serve
