Italian Mussels
Ingredients
- 1 lb. Fresh Mussels
- 1 pint Vince & Joe’s Marinara
- 2 Teaspoons Italian Seasoning
- 1 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
- ¼ Cup Grated Parmesan
- 2 Tablespoons White Wine
- 1 Tablespoon Butter
- 1 Tablespoon Chopped Garlic
Directions
- Pull beards off mussels, the beard hangs just outside the mussel; use hands or needle nose pliers to remove
- Using a hard bristle brush, scrub mussels under cold water until clean then set aside
- Heat 12-inch pot or pan (do not use non-stick) on medium heat, add butter and garlic
- Add wine and let simmer for 30 to 60 seconds
- Add marinara, Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes
- Once hot, add mussels then cover and cook for 5-7 minutes
- Remove unopened mussels, toss open mussels in sauce then top with parmesan and serve
