Five Spice Grilled Cornish Hens
4 Hens
Marinade
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup dry sherry
¼ cup vegetable oil
2 Tbs soy sauce1 tsp five-spice
2 Tbs light brown sugar
1 ½ tsp five-spice powder
Seasoning Blend
1 tsp five-spice powder
½ tsp fresh thyme chopped
½ tsp kosher salt
½ tsp black pepper
1. In a small bowl, mix together all the marinated ingredients.
2. Cut the Cornish hens in half & put in a large heavy-duty plastic bag.
3. Pour in the marinade, mix well, and refrigerate 1-8 hours.
4. Take the hens out & sprinkle with seasoning blend.
5. Pre-heat your grill and then cook hens, breast side down, for 15-20. Turn the hens halfway through the grilling time.
